I must admit over the years I’ve started to get more desensitised to the New Year, I’m over resolutions, no more ‘New Me’! When people ask if I’m doing anything I just say, I’m continuing to do x and x and x. Because for me that’s what it’s about! Of course chocolate for breakfast has now finished that is to the end of advent and finally getting through the Christmas chocolate in the house although I did have birthday cake for breakfast today!

For NYE we couldn’t be bothered to go out, I must be getting older as the hassle of getting served, staying sober due to wait for a drink, and freezing my bum off at midnight on the town square is not appealing to me anymore. So we decided to have a day out somewhere. We stumbled upon the pretty town of Stamford on our way back from the Harry Potter Studio Tour a few weeks ago – we’d attempted a harvester and were told it would be a 45 min wait so we carried on up the A1, when I decided to search if there was an ASK Italian nearby (thanks Em Sheldon for making me addicted to this place lol!) which there was as Stamford is only about five mins off the A1!

When we discovered how pretty it was we said we would go back so what better a day to go!? We wandered the town – in these boots!- then did some shopping, I was very impressed that they had a Space NK and I even got a lovely comment on my outfit in Boots when picking up some sale bits!

We then went to ASK and ate from their festive menu- it was fab value as it was £24.99 each for 3 courses and a glass of prosecco! I also treated myself to a nice cocktail in their fancy mirrorball cup because it was NYE after all! (And Luke was driving!)

Outfit wise this was all courtesy of the magnificent ASOS sale. River Island core range coat – soooo soft the same material as my red short jacket- it was £42.50 instead of £85! Boohoo Plus dress from ASOS was £10 instead of £25 and even my hate of Boohoo (All Girls not really being All Girls now was it!?) couldn’t stop me buying it- it’s low front and back meant I added my trusty burgundy River Island Vest Top too the only thing purchased at full price in my outfit.

The boots were my ultimate fave and I chanced it with these, ASOS Katcher Over the Knee Boots in Mink Velvet as they were reduced from £50 to just £20. As it’s a stretchy velvet they fit my plus size thighs perfectly and stayed up too! I even got a size 9 so they fit my feet too with no squishing! Literally dream boots.

Finally my new Pom Pom hat that I won on instagram from Roman Originals was the perfect way to top off the outfit! Isn’t it cute!? Oh and the only other thing was that my Mulberry Lily came out to play again- I adore this bag and I’ve had it for a few years now- I got it from the Cheshire Oaks outlet store for a steal too! (It’s an AW12 one and I got it in early AW13 for about £400 instead of the £700 it was!)

How did you spend your NYE? And have you caved in the sales yet!?
