As the day approaches that some love and others dread I’ve worked with Moonpig * to give some ideas for gifts (be it for others or yourself!) no matter how and who you want to spend this Valentine’s Day with!
With a Significant Other
A Meal In.
Originally I was looking at going away for the night and having a big slap up meal with the husband. However I soon remembered I’m trying to save money so scrapped that idea when it was going to cost upwards of £200! I’m sure I’ve mentioned I never cook so when I do it’s a treat (or really bad!) so to eat in I’ll make a menu, and go shopping at M&S for our fave foods so we can spend a night in eating fab food! (I don’t risk cooking from scratch just incase).
Moonpig * have kitted me out with loads of fab things to help make our night in that bit more special. So for our night I’ll be serving up G&T’s using this Sibling Gin. I didn’t know Moonpig offered alcohol gifts until now and it was hard to choose just one gin! Once we’ve eaten we’ll be playing the Perfect Partners Board Game * and planning our next date using the date night ideas set * by rolling the novelty date dice and using the date jar to save up for the next one!
When we do go out I’ve already got a new bag for the occasion of course. After lusting after this Kurt Geiger Red Oriental Print Kensington Bag for years and seeing Elle with it I’ve always been on the look out so when I found this brand new one on eBay after having my own clear out on there I knew it had to be mine. So yeah, the saving isn’t going all that well!
By Yourself
Relax and Chill.
I was going to call this one self love- and although moon pig have a lot of gifts things that help with that isn’t one! What I mean if you’re going solo this Valentines then a nice relaxing pamper and bubble bath can’t go too wrong!
This Melt my Heart Gift Set * has a heart shaped lip balm, bath fizzer and cooling eye patches. Just what my puffy eyes need! I’m pairing it with the Rose and Truffles Gift Set * which is a mini bubbly and truffles and then adding my fave truffles from Charbonnel et Walker * . These are just so lush and I think would be my top recommendation if you’re looking for something to add onto you card purchase from Moonpig *. I added a candle i already owned but Moonpig * even have an offering of scented candles too. I think I’ll do this the night before the big day as I’m off work on Valentines Day so a nice relaxing pamper the night before will be perfect.
With your Gals (or Guys!)
Galentines Party
You may remember last year I went alllll out for Galentines and we had a BLAST. We decorated cupcakes, took a Galentines quiz and snuggled my cats. Herbie even dressed up for the occasion. Not for long I may add! We also got each other little gifts and it was such a lush day! Time doesn’t allow us to repeat it, boooo but if I did these are what I would gift my gals. I’d defo repeat the cake decorating though as was so much fun!
I picked this cute pink bunny for me (I can’t resist a cuddly toy!) Which has already found a spot in our new dressing room. I picked a hanging cat planter for Faith as she loves a plant, has a new-ish home and loves cats. (It’s also now in my dressing room) And these amazing Choc on Choc chocolates for Lucinda because she likes to photograph food and because chocolate. These will go to Luke as he loves bourbons so think these will be a cute gift!
And how could I forget the card*?!We always say ‘no floating away’ to each other to reference otters who mate for life. So this design was perfect! I like to write my cards so the inside just says ‘no floating away’. So I can write the to and from parts myself with a message too.
So no matter how you want to spend your day I hope I’ve given a few ideas to show you don’t have to be in a couple this Valentine’s Day to enjoy it. Just take it as a moment to show some love, to yourself, your mates or your pets even!
