The award for the best newly discovered make up brand of 2014/15 goes to Tarte for me. i subscribed to Glossybox last year for a few months, and in my first American themed box i received a sample of Tarte Lights, Camera , Lashes mascara in it, and IT CHANGED MY LIFE! Its a top 3, if not top spot mascara for me. its blacker than black, doesn’t clump, lengthens and curls upwards beyond belief and stays put all day.
I’d bought full size versions of it and the waterproof version (Lights, Camera, Splashes – see what they did there?) through my FB beauty box swaps group and on Depop, as up to recently it couldn’t be bought in the UK, but it was hard to get.
Luckily, QVC came to the rescue and started stocking key parts of the brand and I rejoiced. The most famous/coveted product though isn’t the mascara but the Amazonian Clay Blushers which have tempted me time and time again which they also stock. Then on the grapevine.. I heard there was going to be a Tarte TSV! for those not familiar with QVC , they have a ‘todays special value’ product each day which is an offer on an existing product or a new product put together for the offer.
Step in the Best Face Forward Discovery Set. it still available on QVC for £46.50, which is still great value. It contains a full size version of my fave  Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara (RRP £21.50)

Here it is in action, i just love it! the second product that caught my eye was the Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Quad. I have a large eyeshadow set from tarte (which i will be showing on here soon) which i love so was keen to try a nice neutrals set in their lovely shadow formula. (limited edition for this set) the shades in it are,

  • Ivory Little ThingIvory matte actually a bit chalky which is disappointing
  • Heart of GoldMetallic champagne gold
  • On Copper the WorldMetallic dark copper
  • Love Runs DeepDark brown with slight shimmer running through

The last three shades are lovely and build a lovely smoky eye, which i tried my best to photograph here!

The next item in the set was Tarte Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Pink Bronze, (£19 approx from the US site) its a mix of pinks and browns that blend for a great flush on the cheeks, on the QVC programme it did look great across the different models they had on, and i really like it on my cheeks, and its replaced my newest Mac blush in my pile of favourites for everyday.

Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer in Light (approx £21 in US – £24.84 with blending tool on QVC)ive seen some people not rate this product, but i actually like it a lot. I do like light coverage bases so this cc primer corrects any redness or sallow skin thanks to the triangles of green and lilac alongside the colour, and gives some colour to my skin. It also leaves it smooth and perfect to top off with my loose Proactiv powder for en everyday base. I don’t get the greasy feeling I’ve been getting from my tinted moisturisers throughout the day so it works really well for me.

LipSurgence Lip Creme in Vintage
(RRP £18) this is a new colour to the LipSurgence creme’s. you know me cant rave about lip products, but its comparable to the revlon colourbursts and probably better! It didn’t dry my lips and I liked the colour so more of a nice to have as part of this set for me.

Then the non make up items last but not least: the Double Ended Complexion Brush (exclusive to set)I loovethis, its so soft and helps blend the cc creme perfectly and the Make Up Bag (exclusive to set) a nice little size for travel!

Here’s the total look using just the set

Not bad for the price I’m sure you’ll agree! I just love Tarte and I’m liking forward to trying more eyeshadows from them especially! What’s your favourite Tarte product?
