It’s a rare occasion you’ll see the man behind the camera on here and to be honest I’m not sure if you will again anytime soon as it was so stressful taking these shots! This was attempt two and three after our first attempt was nothing less than a massive argument because I couldn’t position his camera right. See marriage isn’t all roses all the time!
Thank goodness the second attempt went well as quite frankly it was getting closer to him having to shoot some self portraits as my patience was wearing very thin! I was challenged to style my husband in some of the new winter collection from Jacamo and I decided to go for a day to night look as we are often travelling away for weekends and the less things he needs to take in the case the better! (More room for boots for me!) plus Jacamo has a fab selection of shirts* to choose from which meant creating two capsule looks based around them was easy!
For the base of the outfit I chose some lovely Blue Suede Look Chukka Boots (£35) * and some Wine Coloured Slim Fit Jeans (£20)* He loves a good coloured trouser so these jeans made a good alternative to the chinos he often wears. I also love anything wine/plum/burgundy as does he!
I then chose a stripe short sleeve shirt (£16)*for daytime, it can be layered with his trusty bomber(similar here) or a jumper when it gets that bit colder. He’s a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to collars so a button down was a must for this shirt and it stops them curling up!
To quickly switch for an evening look I chose this Knitted Collar Shirt (£28) * which brings out the burgundy of the jeans in the knitted collar. I love pairing navy with a burgundy palette and sometimes can be a bit too plain so the collar is a great detail to tie it all in together without being too matchy matchy. I got away with this one not being buttoned down because of how nice it is! And it wouldn’t really work so well being buttoned I don’t think.
I really enjoyed styling him which is good as taking the photos I definitely didn’t! I’m thinking next time I might let him style me – what do we think?
