Birchbox May Review

This months Birchbox is based around the Great Outdoors and is partnered with Harpers Bazaar which means a great little mini mag with their picks in and a designed box (which is a step up from the Lulu G box’s sleeve)

I’m really impressed with the contents this month especially the gorgeous full size nail varnish and my favourite benefit mascara in a mini version.

My top pick out of the box has to be this full size nail polish from Soigné (£11) it’s a gorgeous bright coral/orange colour and comes in an upmarket box cased in foam. Class.
I’ve heard little about the brand so far but in sure it’s entry in this months box will get people talking more.

Next fave is the mini They’re Real! Mascara from Benefit. (£6.88 approx) An uber fave of mine yet I’ve never bought a full size version yet! Really handy for travelling and make up on the go and the perfect evening mascara for me,as it lengthens, curls and lasts.

The hair focused product in my box this month was the Philip Kingsley One More Day dry shampoo mini (£3.37 approx). I was exited as I’d just used up my Batiste mini on holiday so needed another to keep close at hand! It’s rescued my hair today for work after getting sun oil in it and not having time to wash my hair, before my 5.30 start, so thumbs up so far.

The body offering was another oil (I know have hair oil, body oil and now shower and bath oil thanks to my birchbbox!) The Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil Mini (£2.12 approx) smells lush, and it’s not a product I’d normally use, so there is some positives to the initial ‘Another Oil!’ Reaction.

The last item was a mini Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish (£2.88 approx), another big brand for this months box and I can’t say I’ve seen many reviews on this so look forward to trying it out!( although yes, I would have preferred the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser that some boxes got, but I can’t have it all!)

The lifestyle extra wasn’t good this month it was a sample pack of Imedeen Derma One supplement tablets (£18.99 approx!) I’ve seen similar items making appearances in other beauty boxes and not thought much about them, I’m unsure if I will try them or not- if you have, let me know what you thought!)

So total approx worth of the box is £45.24 (£26.25 excl the high price tablets) which is good either way, big name brands dominate with high end new brands mixed in too, overall the best box so far I think!
