A Splash of Colour with Statment Boots

This outfit all came together quite unplanned but I blooming love it! I mean what’s not to love about black!? I’ve been looking for a skirt that I can wear in the daytime but that’s nice enough to wear out if I wanted to. I have an EVER expanding collection of crop tops that needed a winter version of some of my more summer high waisted skirts. So when I saw this skirt I knew it was perfect.
I’d ordered the pleather midi skirt from La Redoute alongside some flat boots for work, and when it came it was perfect! It doesn’t feel like a terrible plasticky pleather, and it’s unfinished hem makes it look like it could actually be a real leather skirt. It’s got a stretchy waist and this size 20 fits me perfectly thanks to that. It also has POCKETS. Yep. Dreams are made.

In the midst waiting for the skirt to arrive, I spotted these boots on Lily Kate’s Instagram and I knew I had to have them! After stalking the site for a couple of weeks I finally got my hands on a pair on my size! (Well a size 8, I’m a size 8/9). They fit thanks to the stretchy Chelsea boot style which meant they fit around my ankles too, which all previous attempts at finding lovely boots to fit me had failed on. They have the insolia foot bed which basically means hey should be comfier than the average boot. I’m not so sure, having walked in them for about twenty minutes my feet weren’t loving them! But I rarely wear heels nowadays so they may be comfier for those that do I’m sure!

Here’s the link for you to stalk- yep they are from Marks and Spencer! Who’d have thought it?! Aww

I added a plain black top and an old Primark necklace which brings out the colours on the boots I think. I added my lovely La Redoute orange duffle coat too when I went out to make it more weather appropriate, I do think it looks great with the boots too.

Perfect outfit made. I wore all this to a lovely family meal to celebrate my brother in law’s promotion at work and it’s safe to say the skirt more than accommodated me eating lots and lots of pizza and pasta! And I was sitting down so the boots were perfect, double win. Let m know what you think to the outfit in the comments below!
