I’m craving to go back to Barcelona, since we went in May there’s been so many people we know jet off there and we’ve given them all our fave places to go and see and been envious when they’ve been there! I rarely ever want to revisit a place but Barcelona is somewhere I could go back to again and again. In fact I’ll let you into a secret, I first went to Barcelona with my parents when we were on a cruise, and I *whispers* hated it. So I completely ruled it out as a destination for the next fifteen-odd years of my life! It wasn’t until I was sent there on a hen do I realised how fab it was and needed to go back. Now I’m all out of annual leave hence the ‘travel’ silence at the moment but when Accor Hotels got in contact about their competition based on spending 24hours in your fave city I couldn’t not enter myself! When I got thinking about it I also realised that I could probably visit Barcelona for a weekend and still make the most of it so watch this space I might just jet off soon. I also thought it was a fab idea for a post so here’s how I would spend my 24hours in Barcelona.

I’d arrive at around 11am into Barcelona centre so I’d drop off my bags at the B Hotel and hop straight onto the Barcelona Open Top Tour Bus. We stayed at the B hotel last time we went and it’s so conveniently located next to the Plaça D’Espanya which is where the bus transfers from the airport drop off and where the tour buses also stop. So we would waste no time here.

Once on the bus our first stop off would be at the Sagrada Familia. We didn’t manage to go inside last time so would make this first on the list, I know it has to be seen to be believed and it’s the one thing I must see properly – these are just my photos from the tour bus and the top of La Pedrera.

Once we’d finished there it would be time for a late lunch, so we’d head for the markets for a walk around to drool at all the food and grab some quick tapas and a drink amongst all the hustle and bustle.

After that we’d jump back on the bus and head back up to Park Guell. Like I said here in this post we’d have to book in advance so would work around this, but it’s worth it as it’s for sure my favourite spot in Barca.

It would then be time to head back to get changed and to go and see the Montjuïc fountains. They’re just around the corner from the B hotel but because we went off seaosn they weren’t on when we were there! As it would be a Saturday eve (after February when they reopen) we’d be able to catch their showing before heading out for the evening. Our evening would have to be spent on the Foodlover Tapas tour, still my favourite thing to do there, Matt the guy that runs the show, is the loveliest as are his team and the places they take you are always utterly wonderful. I would not miss it for the world!

After that I’ve always wanted to go to Pacha which is on the beach front, because why not!? It would be the perfect way to end the evening. I wouldn’t sleep much as my 24hours would soon be over, but a quick trip for breakfast after a few hours kip and then a quick trip to Sephora in the shopping centre next to B Hotel would have to be done. This was my bargain from last time so I’d be looking out for more Too Faced goodies to take back with me!

Phew! I’m tired just writing all this but it has well and truly made me want to go back to Barcelona asap, hopefully its given you some tips if you are going, or thinking about it- let me know if so!
