Meadowhall recently launched their Autumn Winter 14 look book based around 3 trends, Loud, Rebellious and Square
I was challenged to style an outfit based on the trend that was most ‘me’ after a little quiz (which you can take part in here) I found I was Rebellious.
I wasn’t surprised as my love of black and grey overrides any print or colour!
I started off with a personal styling session at House of Fraser in the centre which i was uber exciting about! After discussions on sizing, my style and the trend, Laura, the personal stylist went and pulled a number of items for me to try on.
It was great to see we were on the same wavelength with what we considered to be rebellious and Laura also picked out some other items that I might not have normally thought about. This dress was one of them:
I don’t usually try wrap dresses and Laura nearly discounted it as did I, however we decided to try it and it was my favourite piece of the evening.
The wrap style flattered my chest, pulled in my waist and skimmed my stomach. Plus the 3/4 sleeves looked great especially with the gilet. The gilet was also fabulous and what I loved the most about it is that the fur was only at the front which meant it wasn’t as bulky on me as most faux fur gilets can be.
In the styling session we teamed it with my own flats to give it a casual shopping feel and with a pair of black sandals for more of an evening look, but I love these boots from ALDO too as the zip detailing gives an extra edge and puts the outfit in the middle of casual/dressy.
As the trend is quite dark, it makes textures so important, so the mix of the scuba, jersey and faux fur worked so well together.
