Firstly Thank You to Holly-Lucy (Tea and Blush) and Lorna (Life By LDE)   for organising their first #TheCityGirls event. It was a brilliant day!

We raised money for City Hearts in a fab raffle where I won tickets to the Kelham Island Museum  so thanks to them and other businesses and brands for donating prizes! Amber was there who is the volunteer co-ordinator and explained what the charity does, it was really moving to hear the founders story and also how they’ve helped victims of human trafficking and their plans for the future.  if you want to know more check them out here. We raised £175 which was matched by Aviva to make £350 which is fantastic!

The event was great there were different brands set up all across the room at Bloo88 and gifting tables interspersed where brands couldn’t be there on the day.
I went first to Melissa at Benefit where I was brow mapped and then shaped with Browzings. I really liked the shape so have been replicating that since! I also had roller lash applied over my existing mascara (I think I’m still on the fence) and Porefessional which I must admit did seem to mattify my newly discovered oily t zone. I was given a sample of the They’re Real Remover and Porefessional to try at home so I’ll be seeing if the Porefessional helps out again with my shiny forehead probs.

Can you te which eyebrow had been done and which one not?
I then moved onto the raffle table followed by the gifting tables featuring Hendersons Relish (perfect as its a Sheffield event) , Virtue Ice Tea and Voss Water. I got rather excited about the Voss I’m not going to lie as I’m dying to try out a fruit infused water for work so will be adding some fruits to my bottle ASAP!

I then went to see Zehra at Panache,  got to go into the loos with her and get my bosoms out to be measured, sounds seedy but it wasn’t (she didn’t see anything lol!!) but she did measure me at 2 cups sizes larger than I thought and the amount of revelations that happened on the day thanks to Zehra were unreal. I kept encouraging everyone I saw to get measured, myself and Simone (Married To A Geek) were both in awe about how wrong we’d been and what a difference the fitting bra in the right size had made! I then was given the catalogue to choose a set to then review, I had so many struggles with this as there were loads of lovely sets, so watch out to see what I chose coming soon!

After that I was a little hot and flustered so sat and chilled out on the sofa and smelled all the little mini perfume bottles from Penhaligons. I love them so was so excited to see them and I chose the little purple one to take home with me.

It was great to see some independent businesses including Cinnamon Buns Designs , Secondthread and Retropacks.
Cinnamon Bun Designs make personalised prints. I loved the Kanye reference in this one!

I didn’t get chance to visit SecondThreads  and the clothes don’t go up to my size but saw some of their accessories and heard some of the other bloggers commenting on how nice they were!
Lewis is Holly-Lucy’s brother who has set up Retropacks an Instagram subscription box. Sending prints monthly to you from your insta pics. Great for scrap booking I think! I’m hoping to review a personalised pack soon.
Lush Sheffield were there, myself and Siobhan (Rock and Roses) were the last to visit so missed the Angels on Bare Skin making but did get some freshly made to take away. I haven’t stopped using it since and my skin is so soft! They also gave me these goodies and was so glad to replace my African Paradise in shower moisturiser with the sweet scented Yummy Mummy!

We then stopped and had scrummy pizza downstairs provided by Bloo88. Droooool.

After the raffle draw, group photos and another chit chat were were given bursting at the seams goody bags to take away with us! Thanks to all the brands involved and of course to Lorna and Holly Lucy for organising it all! I’ll be doing a separate goody bag post with initial thoughts on some of the things I’ve been using already so keep your eyes peeled! It was fab to catch up, meet and get to know my fave bloggers from the area and I had such fun so thanks again The City Girls for such a fab day!
