Most working days my makeup is applied in a moving car, I’m luckily enough to have some great car share buddies who take on board some of the driving so I can add that extra sparkle to my already beautiful face!! I don’t always car share though so I’ve been perfecting a quick makeup look that I can quickly apply in the car (once I’ve parked up!) before heading into work.
I’m really fickle when it comes to my bases and concealer as I’m constantly on the look out for that perfect one. However I think I’m starting to realise that they’re quite similar to people in that sense and perfect doesn’t exist! However I’ve got ever so close with my most recent combo, and it’s made me settle down for now. I gave into the Tarte Shape Tape (£19 Plus VAT&International Handling Fees ) hype and I’m so glad I did! Combined with my Models Own Mini Egg Blending Sponges (£4.99)* it’s great at almost concealing my dark circles! It does slightly crease but setting it with The Body Shop All in One Face Base (£15) does help it stop gathering under my eyes.
Base wise I’m using The Body Shop Moisture Foundation with SPF15 (£15)* that I was matched to and given at a recent event at their Doncaster Lakeside Outlet Store. The best thing about the store is that it’s laid out like usual Body Shop (so no rummaging) and if you buy 3 of more items you receive 40% off everything! I’m sold as my current love of this and the Face Base means I only have to buy one of my fave flannels and I’ll get 40% off! Plus everyone there was super lovely and it’s not far from home for me either. Oh and Lakeside has a Cadburys Outlet too so even more reason to visit haha!
I also picked up the blush I’m using right now whilst I was there too – it’s the All in One Cheek Colour (£8) in 02 Ginger and just a swipe with my Models Own personalised domed contouring brush (£12.99)* is just perfect to give that pop of colour across my cheekbones. This was a gift from visintg their new Leeds store in the Trinity Shopping Centre (it’s amazing!). If I have time I’ll apply a swipe of Illamasqua Gel Sculpt (£22) to contour with before my blush.
I can’t go without highlighter and top of my faves is now the Primark Bronze Palette (£4) which I wrote about Here, as it’s just so good! I’m using my personalised Ecotools Fan Brush* (£10.18 in a set with a powder brush) to apply this for the perfect cheekbone highlight. Look out for a competition to win this brush (not personalised though sorry!) soon.
Eyebrow wise it’s a quick sweep of the New CID i-Groom pencil (£20.50) which is one of my can’t live without products and a quick brush through with the built in brush. After that it’s a quick sweep of the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold (£23) which I use as a base for whatever eyeshadow combo I go for, my most reached for right now is the Too Faced Natural Love Palette (£52) as it has so much choice! If I’ve got time I’ll do a quick eyeliner flick with the Makeup Revolution Flick Thick and Thin Eyeliner (£3.50) . As this is often done before 7am I often get it wrong , howeve my new fave product from DHC – Olive Virgin Oil Cotton Swabs (£6.75 for 50)* gets rid of any mistakes fast, and is what I’ve needed in my life! I carry them everywhere now and they’re even great at getting rid of any lip liner mistakes too!
Once that’s sorted it’s a dash of mascara I’m currently using a mix of mascara’s- my fave being Tarte Lights Camera Lashes in the deluxe mini size (was 19p from Tarte alongside a purchase when I bought my shape tape!its usually £9)
Finally I don’t always bother with a lip product and I’m currently applying Merumaya Lip Line Restoration Treatment (£19.50)*. But if I do have time I’ll apply one of my Kylie Liquid Lips (full post on these soon!) with Koko K being my fave at the moment!
So this is a rough go to face, I’d say the above was a ten to fifteen min face as I spent a lot more time on my eyeshadow than on a usual work day! The lips are also an Ombré and they probably took another five mins to get right! But this gives you an idea of the base products and the overall look!
If I’m really quick I can make this last 5 mins before I have to make my way into work and I’ve got it down to a fine art now I’ve found some products that make it so quick and simple, and get rid of any mistakes too! Have you tried any of the products I’m loving right now!?
