Welcome to my new favourite skincare brand Moo Goo*. I mentioned in my Sheffield Bloggers Unite post that I had fallen in love with their brand and products and I would be writing a separate post on their creams changing my life!
Well it all started at the event, when before the presentation I saw their brochure and on the front it said ‘Skin Problems?’ I remember saying Hell Yes! to Simone at the time and laughing. Then we were given the booklets as the presentation started. I stared skimming through and saw the common skin complaints of Eczema then Psoriasis as I often do when looking into skincare that suits a ‘medical’ skin condition.I don’t envy those with either skin complaint but they are the most talked about so often get the most products aimed at them, so nothing new here I thought, but then I turned the page and saw Sebbhoraic Dermatitis ! The lesser known skin complaint (It often feels like!) that meant I wasn’t diagnosed with it until last summer when I went and told the doctor I had it after much Google research.

I won’t talk to you too much about it but to explain it a little it sits where the skin produces oil the most. Commonly on the scalp and hairline, followed by creases of the nose, ears and eyebrows. It’s a flaky skin/scabbing and redness situation for most and the scalp part is the most itchy I find and can often appear dandruff like if you scratch it. I can also make it worse by picking the skin which eases the itch but then makes it worse.

Basically I hate it. My skin is fairly decent otherwise, but this one can get me sometimes. I constantly work to cover the redness on my nose to then have the skin peel away mid day leaving a make up free red patch. The itching is out of control during flare ups too.

It’s frustrating to have to constantly search for things that sooth and don’t aggravate it and to hope to find the holy grail product I’m sure anyone with a skin complaint feels this pain! So you can now probably understand how I felt when I actually saw it mentioned in the booklet, with an explanation and a product designed to combat it!

I made sure I went over to chat and basically said- I have this! Please help! That’s when their Scalp Cream was thrust into my hand and I’ve not looked back since.

The scaling has gone, the redness has reduced by about 90% and I feel fab. I didn’t imagine it would be this amazing but it really is! My hairline is redness free, my nose is also calmer and doesn’t peel daily (probably once a week now) and my eyebrows are completely clear.

I now only have it on my scalp where my hair is but continue to dab the cream into patches I find. The best news is that it’s also now available on the NHS prescription service so I can go to my doctors and ask to be prescribed it and pay the prescription fee at the time (currently £8.20) instead of £12 on site here  or £17 for the bigger one. Saving money too?! I’m in! Although I’m betting I will get too lazy and end up buying it as I struggle to get to the doctors thanks to working an hour away from the practice.

I also received their Full Cream product in my goody bag. I gave a sample of this to my friend who has eczema on her cheeks and she said it started to make a difference to her too. I have also used it but find it slightly too thick for my skin type to use everyday so now use it once a week before I go to bed as a bit of a moisture injection/sleep mask.

I literally cannot say how much I love Moo Goo for the difference it’s made to my skin. Their sister Dusty Girls makes natural mineral makeup so I’m about to place an order for some makeup to see if that’s another revelation for me! If you’ve tried it let me know!

*given to me at a blogging event all delirious feelings and words my own!
