If you follow me on Twitter you may have noticed my profile pic change, I went out on Saturday night to celebrate my mums birthday and wore a gorgeous dress (look out for Friday’s post for more on that!) so it was only right my nails took inspiration from the beautiful floral print of the dress.

I started with a light grey base using Nails Inc – Hyde Park Place. Once that dried I used a thin nail art brush and Nails Inc – Tavistock Street, a darker grey shade to create the textured woven feel of the dresses background. On my index finger I used Nails Inc – Bruton Lane. I also added loose glitter to my ring finger which was irridescant with burgundy micro glitter.

To create the watercolour floral print I used lots of nails art pens, stripers and a nail art brush. I picked out colours from the dress and painted the darker floral print on my thumbs and the lighter floral print on my middle fingers.

I’m really pleased how it turned out! What inspires your nail art/colours?
