January Birchbox – Hit Refresh

Oh no! Another company that want to jump on the incessant January fitness bandwagon I hear you cry!
Im afraid so, however I must say as themes go I wouldn’t have expected less from January’s Birchbox and they’ve executed it really well.

They’ve teamed up with Women’s Health Magazine to theme the box and have included a discounted subscription as part of the box. It’s also part of the lifestyle extra which is a pink Pilates Band which I’ve already been using on my ankles as it suggests in the mini booklet that comes in the box too.
The booklet is in place of the usual postcards you get and I like it! It contains tearable sheets which each have a bite sized challenge on them that you can tear out when complete including: Sit Smarter, take a Cold Shower and Eat Veggies for Breakfast. I must say I liked that it was varied and more health focussed (over exercise/lose weight).

Product wise I was happy with what I got. The Stila Lip Glaze is a nice colour however don’t think that this is a full size version worth £15 (2.4ml product) it’s a deluxe sample with 1.5ml of product in it. And I’ve found my shade ‘Gleam’ alongside some of the other shades from others boxes here for just £16.50 (reduced from £27.50) for 8 shades and a jewelled headband.
Applied it does taste nice I can’t put my finger on what though, but as it is a glaze it is slightly sticky on application. I liked what it looked like on though so I’m tempted by the set!

I was also really happy to see a sample of Healgel Intensive as I’ve been wanting to try this variant of it for a while now. As it contains silicone it can also be used as a makeup primer, as it acts as a barrier too I’m looking forward to using it that way, as it means it can treat my skin whilst protecting it from my makeup on top.

Another product I’ve heard great things about in the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask I’m unsure what ‘combatting congestion’ is as described in the box but I’m up for giving it a go!

I also got Philip Kingsley Body Building Conditioner a familiar brand but I’ve not tried this conditioner but anything that claims to seal flyaway hairs I will give a whirl!

I also got Activbod Cooling Finish Lotion which is designed to provide a cooling feeling to skin after a workout alongside moisture and some Embrace Matcha Tea I hate tea.Especially Green Tea as I get the shakes so no good for me!

Overall though i was happy with this box and I’m looking forward to using most of the products throughout January. I’ve also now got £30 worth of Birchbox shop points and Id love some help picking out what I should buy! Leave me suggestions in the comments!
