I really don’t profess to know much about interiors when it comes to knowing names of designers, historical trends and styles and all that jazz, but I like to think I keep up with trend predictions and who on the high street is worth paying attention to, not only for their style but their quality as well. My favourites on the high street for quick, affordable home updates have to be H&M, Primark, Marks and Spencer, Next and Asda (I work at Asda so it’s inevitable really). I’ve also had some great bargains from TK Maxx in the past but I had only just started browsing Homesense (their sister store) recently but had always managed to resist buying anything (goodness knows how!). But a few weeks ago  I took a trip at their invitation to explore the Homesense on the retail park in Birstall (just off the M62 west of Leeds centre).
The Homesense team fed us amazing brownies and then asked us to wander around and pick our our favourite bits by tagging them with the #LeedsLoves tags. What it made me realise is that I am obsessed with anything that’s tactile. Smooth marble, fluffy cushions, furry rugs and even slightly spiky Faux plants.

See, obsessed.

So much so that when I saw the cream sheepskin rug I proceeded to cuddle and stroke it in the middle of the store. I may have forgot myself ever so slightly. It of course had to come back home with me so I put the voucher the team had given me towards buying the small furry hygge rug of dreams. (It’s £35 if anyone is interested and can find it). I’m still dreaming about the cacti too, the porcelain one in particular would look great in our snug once we’ve finished decorating in there so may just have to snap one up quick before they are gone!

I did snap up some Faux eucalyptus, a few notebooks and a tassel bag charm that hides a charging cable for my iPhone(I’ve been wanting one for ages!) oh and a Krispy Kreme from the drive through that’s opposite the Homesense. See what more reason do you need to go now?

There were 8 of us lovely Leeds Bloggers there and it was get to see everyone’s different styles and tastes. Victoria Has posted about our trip, she picked up a great tray and some beautiful bowls which I’ve since seen on her Instagram. Ally got the most beautiful Eiffel Tower lamp that was just so statement, I loved it! Remie treated her dog to the cutest bow tie collar. I need one for my cat. Claire got the cutest outdoor table that was tiled on the top -there’s a photo of one above- they came in different heights and designs and were really reasonable- I think £14.99 for a medium one. Zoe got some always handy Perspex makeup storage and the cutest rose gold bow paperclips they were so Kate Spade it hurt.  I can’t recall what Phoebe or Danielle got but it was great to see everyone excited about their finds!
If you don’t drive then I can say that there’s a Homesense opening up in Leeds centre next to TK Maxx on the Headrow in just under 2 weeks. I know a lot of people are excited for that! I’ll certainly be checking it out, after payday though of course- If you see a girl in the corner stroking a cushion then that will be me. Are you a fan of tactile things or am I the only one!?
