Although my bedroom is probably the room I spend the most time in during the week (albeit whilst asleep.) It’s not somewhere that I have really focused on making sure it looks on trend. So I decided it was time to do something affordable and quick to refresh the room before I start to think of a longer term vibe for the room.

1. Update Your Bedding

First up is the most easy way to update the look of a bedroom and that’s the duvet set. The bed is by far the biggest feature in any room so introducing a new pattern or colour through a lovely duvet set is a really quick and easy way to update your room. In the past I’ve always focussed on ensuring the cover matched everything  but nowadays I’m a little less fussed. We recently upgraded our duvet to a Super King size to match the bed size and it’s been revolutionary! It does mean it’s been a little more difficult to find really affordable and trend led duvet covers for it.

This one is from George Home at Asda, I’m so glad they’ve increased the amount of designs they do in the Super King size. Although only online in the main it’s fab as I can pick up my faves designs still.

This one is now out of stock, but I’ve also just bought this Marble print set and this Dinosaur print set (£15 each for Super King!) from there too! I bought the marble set , Luke said he wasn’t sure about it but if I could have that could he have a dinosaur one. I’d said if you can find one at the same price in a superking then yes! To be honest I didn’t think for a minute he would so was very surprised to find this Floral Dino one. Of course I stuck to my side of the deal and bought it.

I’ve now got my eye on this Palm Leaf one from Yorkshire Linen, I’ve been looking for a palm print one but have found most ones to be too dark, and I like the grey stripe in this which will tie in nicely to decor a little too. For  £19.99 it’s getting ordered! I also love Homesense for bargain Super King sets and also Marks and Spencer if I’m feeling spendy! We have one similar to this pinstripe one which is £59 for the Superking oils fab in our bedroom.

2. Switch Up your Soft Furnishings

Don’t just stop at the duvet cover, hen it comes to refreshing your bedroom.  Think about cushions, throws and curtains aside quick ways to update and refresh. I’m not one for loads of cushions on a bed as I just throw them off, but with the bed being so big it does need a little something in the middle of our pillows! The little furry pillow in the photo above is also George Home and is the perfect little square for the space. It also adds a bit of texture as does the furry throw I also have on the bed.

My curtains were from Next and I like the fact they are a light colour , however I’ve been looking to update them as they let in ALLLLLLL the light and although in the week I get up around dawn I certainly don’t at the weekend if I can help it! I need a bedroom I can relax in!  I love these ones from Yorkshire Linen as they are similar to my ones now but are a blackout version and only £19.99 too. You can check complete collection of ready made curtains on Yorkshire Linen here.* I also enjoy these chevron grey ones from George Home at just £24.

3. Stack Up Trinkets and Trays

I do love a home accessory and I also love a flamingo so this little trinket tray is perfect for me! It’s back removes to store more Jewellery, but I mainly use the base to pop my necklaces and hair clips in at the end of the day. It’s a one off but I’ve found similar ones at Oliver Bonas (£32) and John Lewis (£30)

I also use a trinket tray to hold my night cream and hair bobbles. This cat one from George Home is perfect and just a little bit Professor Umbridge. (They do Bedding and a cushion to match if you love that kind of thing!)

4. Light It Up with Lamps

I won’t be changing my wire chandelier just yet (you can see it in the mirror in the photo above!) but I do want to update my lamps. They are nice but are very ‘blingy’ and I’m just not sure that’s my vibe really. Ally from Digital Diva has great taste and got an amazing Eiffel Tower lamp from Homesense when we were there. I’m now craving a similar statement lamp for the room. My faves after having a look around are this Marble Lamp (£64.99) from Wayfair and this Marble Lamp (£50) from John Lewis.

As you can see my bedroom isn’t the most immaculate because, life! But I do love changing the look and feel and I’m even debating a change of wallpaper next! What’s your fave way to update a room quickly!? Let me know as I’m always itching to change at least one room in the house!
