I need all the tips when it comes to taking eye make up photos! I’ve tried a lot of lenses and lights but still nothing. So I afraid these photos are as good as I’m going to get right now. I rarely apologise for things on this blog but I am definitely recognising make up shots as an ‘opportunity’ of mine! Haha! So if you’ve got hints and tips please share them in the comments!
Anyways back to business, this Code Beautiful VLM Mascara* is amazing. I did not expect when I was sent it to actually love it that much or to get into my top 5 mascaras. But it has, and is not just my most reached for but is my only reached for at the moment.

VLM quite simply stands for Volumising and Lengthening Mascara and it doesn’t disappoint. It recommends a ‘ Roots, Wriggle and Roll’ technique of applying for best results. Apply at the Roots, Wriggle the brush to separate and lift, then Roll the brush up to the tip.
It’s easily buildable for nights out from a more subtle daytime look too, and doesn’t clump like others seem to when you start to build it up for a power lash which is perfect for me, I mean does anyone like a clumped lash look?

I also haven’t had any fallout, even with gentle eye rubs it’s been okay- more vigorous not so much – but I wouldn’t expect more than that anyway!
It’s not too difficult to remove, but it does need more than just a bit of soap and water. Eye remover and cotton pads are a winner but when I’ve built it up I do need to use a few as you’d expect from a good long lasting mascara.
Price wise this is up there with the big brands so is head to head with the likes of Too Faced, Urban Decay, Illamasqua and Benefit but it’s safe to say I feel like it competes favourably with them and I’d happily part with £19.95 for it. (Plus free delivery which is always good!)

I’ve found it to be one of the better mascaras I’ve used and like I say it made it into my top 5 for sure, have you tried Code Beautiful VLM mascara before, I’d love to know what you thought of it! If not share with me your top 5 mascara’s in the comments below!
