Less than a week until the big daaaay! As you can tell I’m super excited, but, before all the present opening there is the partying and the deciding on the outfit for The Big Day and subsequent New Year shenanigans. I’ve been focussed on getting pretty dresses for all occasions until I started to rediscover my love for tops. It stemmed from one main purchase, which was a pair of high waisted jeans from ASOS. They have revolutionised my wardrobe! In the summer I’d started to wear the whole high waisted skirt and crop top combo and was looking for how to translate that into winter. And I went for the jeans. They were a bargainous £25 and they fit perfectly. Well, I say perfectly, bending over in them is not the one, but aside from that they are fab. I also found the perfect skirt in this La Redoute faux leather beauty and these have been my go to’s for all my nights out recently. That’s lead to me searching high and low for fabulous tops to go with them.
I spotted this Boohoo Plus top (£12) at the Curve Fashion Festival, it comes in loads of colours and there’s a velvet version at £15 which I want next but I got the slinky lace top to start me off. I love the neckline on this and eyelash lace just makes it. Oh and the Velvet Duster is also Boohoo core range, I’m wearing a size M here so it’s worth trying if you like it.
Christmas has to allll be about the sparkle right? I picked this top up last week from Next (£18) and I’m loving the petrol spill colour of the foil, it’s super stretchy too and is a strong contender for Christmas Day!
You also can’t go wrong with a good sequin sparkle and Coast* have got some fab sequin bits in at the moment, as do River Island! I love their sequin and beaded Cami tops, and am already eyeing up some of the newer editions in that section! Oh, and this top from Simply Be is super lustworthy too.
My love of velvet grows each day, I got a ribbed velvet crop top from Primark for just £6, and it was perfect for my works do as it kept the girls covered! ASOS Curve also have this similar bodysuit without the rib for £25 which I had my eye on for quite a long time before spotting the Primark one!
Naff quality photo but wanted to share it! S/o to Charlotte for taking it! Life is not always about the outfit shots lol
I bought this dress from Simply Be to wear as a top, as I loved the harness detail on it- there’s a lot of plus size bloggers that got this as it was only £15, what a bargain! I figured I would pay more for a top the same style and because the material is pretty thin it doesn’t even bulk out under my jeans. Win win. Sorry for the rubbish photo but you get the idea- I also wore my beaut Live Unlimited Pleated jacket* out and this is getting its own post soon as it is just so beautiful!
I could carry on forever but I fear if I carry on looking I will only end up buying even more! I’ve already just bought the River Island Plus embroidered top of dreams so I must stop, the bonus is tops are often cheaper than dresses so I’m saving money somewhere!
Let me know if you’re more of a separates person or if you are in the dress gang all the way!
