Beauty Boxes, love them or hate them? I’m decidedly on the fence so far! And I’m sorry to say that this months Birchbox hasn’t persuaded me any.
Last month I didn’t get a nail product -yes, me, nail polish addict- did they read my profile!?( and it was a full size Leighton Denny or Nail Rock set!) , the response was poor from birch box and I nearly cancelled but thought I’d give it another try.
This months birchbox is hosted by Lulu Guiness and should contain a booklet on her tips and interview (I’m missing it!) but it is cutely packaged I must say!

Inside was a good cross section of products, and it featured my favourite make up product Benefits Stay Don’t Stray (£20.50 full size, sample worth approx £5.12)

I’ve used 3 lots of this product since it’s release so a handy travel size is not to be sniffed at. I don’t use this as a primer as is intended but actually use it as an under eye concealer as it’s a perfect shade and stays put!
The box also contained a card from Benefit and Birchbox for a free makeupper using Gimme Brow, it’s a nice token but as we probably all know you can just walk up to a counter and have the same service.

The second item is Dr.Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner (£39 full size, sample worth approx £9.75)

This is a good size product and I’m looking forward to trying it out, it reminds me of Benefit Porefessional but with a slightly stronger colour to it, it certainly feels soft upon first test.

Next up is Aroma Works Nurture Body Oil (£32.50 full size, sample worth approx £1.62)

This smells lush and reminds me of spa days! However only 5ml for a body oil is disappointing, I’d have liked a larger size to try especially considering the sample worth.

The next sample was Molten Brown Rhubarb and Rose Replenishing Hand Cream (£10 full size, sample size worth approx £1.75)

I’ve just been to Mr E’s Nanna’s today and after washing up I thought hmm why don’t I have any hand cream? I really could do with a little tube, and I got home to this! It smells good and soaks in fast, however I do feel slightly cheated when I’ve compared my box to others and seen that instead of this they’ve received a full size Korres Body Lotion, so actually a full size of this would have been nice and matched the boxes worth a little more.

Lastly is a fragrance sampler, English Laundry No 7 For Her (£47 original size, sample size worth approx £1.88)

This is the first product I noticed, as it had leaked. It smells lovely, as does the rest of my box , so unsure if there’s even a squirt left in it.

Oh and how could I forget the Lifestyle extra? A Stick of Rock , available at most major retailers in the Skegness region. In all seriousness this was inspiration for Lulu’s SS14 season and is what the outer of the box was based upon.

So overall a favourite product, one that could be a could sub for another fave, and a hand cream for my bag for when I go do dishes at Nanna’s! A total worth of the box is approx £20.12, (excluding the stick of rock!)and my current subscription is £10 (no postage) as it’s a combined one with Bloom and Wild flower subscription. I would have liked to see a full size product this month, or a few bigger sample sizes, but I love the theme this month!
