When the sun shines…. be Sili!

If you follow me on insta you will have seen a sneak peek of this outfit in there as part of ‘Full Length Photo Monday’ where a lot of bloggers shared a full length photo with our fave #WeAreTheThey to help promote body confidence.

It was taken the weekend before last just as the weather started to turn from summer into what feels like an early winter now! It was the first time I had been able to wear my Sili Sunglasses* – long story short -the guys there did a fab job to turn them around but they just missed arriving before my hols (Mr Postman why do you always leave my parcels with my neighbours then the one day I need them you don’t!?!!!) it was good to know I had something waiting for me on my return though so all was not lost!

I was keen to work with Sili as I saw they offer 2 things that are verrrry important to me

  1. Prescription Lenses
  2. Colour Co- ordination

Preach.

Of course the colour co ordination is the most important to me! In the normal lenses you can get mirror finishes in a variety of colours which is step 1. The next step is to chose the frames around them again theres lots of colours to choose, and finally the arms, yep another colour again! The lenses can be popped out of the frames if you had 2 pairs and wanted to truly mix and match, but mainly the arms are the things to switch.

For my pair I chose brown prescription lenses and tortoiseshell frames but added orange arms to give it a bit of a twist. I thought the colour combo was a bit 70’s too!

I was also sent a pair of tortoiseshell arms to switch them with too and because my prescription lenses were late back from the lab, Sili kindly sent me a non prescription pair with turquoise arms which I’m also loving! Aren’t I a lucky girl!?

The other selling point is that they bend and don’t break, so are great for those a little sportier than me but also means I won’t break them when I leave them lying around in the car! I’ve been driving in them for 2 weeks now and I have to say they are super comfy, they are really light and don’t weigh down like some glasses can do. They’re also a decent size which means they block out the sun well unlike some not so trendy prescription pairs that let the sun in at the sides.

The custom pairs are all £58, it’s an extra £20 for each set of arms but they are £10 if ordered alongside a pair of sunglasses. The prescription lenses are £25 extra which I think is very reasonable as they are branded lenses- mine were Kodak lenses and they are really clear.

So total to buy a pair of prescription glasses it’s £83 which I think is very reasonable especially given the comfort and flexibility of the shades.

So for this sunny day I chose my orange arms and wore it with a Paisley top from George (£6 in the sale!) , Warehouse Jeggings (my new love! £20 in the sale) and warehouse long crochet cardigan (yup sale! £13 from asos bargain!) of course my fave RI heels went on my feet. They narrowly avoided being ruined for life later on when a bird pooped on my foot! Luckily it landed in between the lace up bits ON.MY.SKIN eurgh. The things we endure for fashion!
