I wanted to make a quick summary of 2013 using photos from my iPhone!
2013 started with my birthday and I braved the snow in mid Jan to go to Harvey Nics in Leeds with my bestie for a champagne afternoon tea, it was lush(even if the service speed was questionable!). Jan was also the month that one of my alternative bridal bouquets made the window display of Lola Bridal in Northampton, such a lovely shop!
Feb brought some excitement when by submitting my manicure photo to Revlon , Jenny Longworth picked it as the best one and I won Brits tickets! I had an amazing time and enjoyed all the performances and the did gems and carousel at the after party too!
I also raised some money for charity this month by doing a firewalk! It was a great experience and we raised over £400 for charity.
March is my mumma’s birthday so I took her for afternoon tea to a lovely old country house near us, she was really looked after and we even got a tour of the rooms which had just been restored.
April saw me splurge some money on a Mulberry purse to match my Alexa bag. The plaster pink colour was a SS12 colour it was hard to find an authentic purse in good condition so I snapped this up when I finally found it on eBay.
I also met the ginger pony! It’s a long story but it lived just off a roundabout on the A46 and I used to love spotting it on my way to work once weekly.
May was our family holiday (Mr E’s parents, sis and bro and their families) in Stratford. We had a large house with its own pool and it was lovely to spend some relaxing time with everyone. We also got away for a night in a lovely hotel near the theatre and went to the opening night of the comedy hullabaloo which was so funny!
In June we did a work team build which was a picture treasure hunt, it was so much fun but the highlight was meeting the ‘fittest builder in Yorkshire’ TM had to include that pic!
We also bought our day bed for the garden in lieu of an abroad holiday this year, it got some good use both in the day and evening with the addition of a fire pit, I hope we have some great weather again in 2014.
June also saw my nail varnish collection finally get organised thanks to my dads joinery skills, I’m getting another for my birthday as well, I can’t wait!
July was the first time my 2 catties Pogo and Poppy sat together without trying to attack each other, which was quite monumental, and it was Mr E’s birthday and his brothers 21st, so we had a lovely family meal at a lovely Italian place in Mansfield.
The meals continued with a lovely impromptu meal in the middle of Leeds with my work friends thanks to tweet for a table which was the best lunch hour of the year! Certainly was better than sitting at my desk with a salad.
And lastly in July we went to the races it was a glorious evening and we watched the races with pink champagne and afternoon tea as the sun set.
August saw some more lovely weather and a pub golf themed bank holiday, except it was 9 holes and it was in the ‘club house’ instead of out in pubs!
September was super busy as I took holidays from work, I went to the races again, this time with my bestie , it was the St Leger at Doncaster and we consumed rather a lot of champagne and continued partying until 1am in Bawtry. I also went to Alton Towers for the first time (I hate rides) but actually went on lots including thirteen, which I’ll never go on again!
More organisation happened, this time it was the turn of my shoe collection, the large cupboard was kitted out with fitted shelves to house all my heels and more.
Finally in September I won tickets to an intimate gig to see Wretch 32 it was utterly amazing. Jacob Banks was the support act who I also love and at the end Shakka came on to sing blackout, it was immense! It’s the first memory I think of when I think of 2013, and is something I think of everyday when I stare at the set list I got that’s on my desk back board at work. I also got to meet Shakka and Jacob by hanging around and was super happy!
October saw another gig in the form of 1xtra Live with Wretch again and Azealia Banks and more in Leeds. It was also my little nephews first birthday, and the month my bro in law got engaged to his girlfriend in Venice! We had a lovely meal to celebrate with both families.
I found out I’d been accepted into AccessAllASOS at the end of October, I couldn’t believe it and was super happy!
In November I went to the Children in Need appeal night with my friend Claire it was so enjoyable and I got 3 seconds of fame on the TV lol! We nearly met Tinie Tempah but got kicked out as he left his dressing room! Gutted!!
Mr E whisked me away to a castle at the end of November, and we went shopping to Cheshire Oaks where I bought myself a lovely Mulberry bag with my savings and went inside the biggest Christmas tree in the UK.
I also was picked to attend the AccessAllASOS selfie school and to put together a winter warmer look as an ASOSInsider.
Finally December was filled with friends, family and parties including the nightmare before Christmas themed one.The final pic is of me and my little family all together on Christmas Eve.
All in all there’s a lot to be thankful for here, and although there were some lows too, including illness and losing loved ones, I’m very happy with how 2013 turned out on the whole!
