I’ve never been a massive fan of all black outfits, outside of work and especially in the summer, so when I was challenged to find an all black outfit for the hen do in Morocco I found it difficult! But since then I’ve seen black dresses popping up all over the place (like blumming buses!) and I was debating actually wearing one through choice for our last trip in the sun! So when Pink Clove asked me to pick from their vast collection of plus size dresses* I decided to go for a black one to give it a shot!
I picked the Josephine Dress* and I think the fact that this black dress has a floral print at the top does brighten it somewhat! It’s also pretty cool to wear unlike most black outfits as it’s a slip with the mesh shirt sleeve dress over which is very airy and doesn’t take in the heat quite as much.
It’s also a crease free gem, I’ve just washed it and it’s gone straight back in the wardrobe to wear again- I wore it to work and got so many compliments so it’s a lovely little dual purpose dress really! Plus it’s only £30 and I think it looks more expensive than that!
I’m wearing the size 20 which is just right, it comes in sizes 16 to 24 and as it’s so stretchy I’d say it would fit one size up and down from that size range.
Pairing it with a metallic bag also helped lift it a bit and make it look that bit more summery. This ones from the Accessorize sale and I got it as the styling reminded me of the Chloe Nile , purely the edging of the top flap but still, it was only a tenner so win win really.
From a distance (and a bit close up too!) the print looks like embroidery, however it’s a slightly puffed print so there’s no scratchy threads or anything which is good!
I kept the jewellery subtle and added some H & M Earrings and a Topshop bangle both which I got from the Mercari Selling Site for bargain prices!
Overall I enjoyed wearing black , it was comfy, looked great and was perfect for packing in my case, I’m converted! Do you like to wear bright colours on holiday or are you a all black errrrthing kinda person?
