I like to think I taught my mum everything she knows about fashion. For an age I never knew where I got my love of fashion from as my mum was never much of a shopper when I was growing up. However after much thinking about it I finally realised its because she was shopping for me me not her, and she was obsessed with me matching! I remember a particular outfit from Marks and Spencers which was a burgundy top with embroidered collar, matching skirt to the embroidery pattern, matching tights, scrunchie and even matching shoes and socks!! This is where I get my matchy matchy style from quite clearly. For future reference do not wear a gold bracelet and silver necklace in front of me, or black shoes with navy trousers, I just wouldn’t cope very well with it.

Nowadays she actually buys things I would wear (and has a few Phase Eight beauties which makes me wish I was her size so we could share!) but it’s all in the clothes, her shoes are less desirable. She has osteoporosis which means she should wear supportive shoes and she was actually recommended Hotter shoes to wear to support her, so basically it’s low sandals, loafers and lots of sparkles to jazz then up, I’ve never seen my mum in a heel over 2 inches. So you can imagine my thoughts when I was invited to visit the Hotter shop that’s newly opened in Leeds just off Briggate I kind of was expecting my mums shoe cuoboard- That was until I checked out their website!

These were the first pair I saw and I loved them!

Then I saw these and these and realised Hotter were getting trendy!

So I accepted with an open mind to seeing what they had to offer and wasn’t disappointed. Of course there are still their first ever shoes focussed on comfort  (in 14 colours no less) and slippers (which is where they stated out in 1959) but there are also some more trend led shoes that are more noticeable as you enter the store.
I still loved the Shipley brogues in real life and also took a fancy to these higher coverage Seaton Shoes.

Lizzi ended up with these ones as not only dos they really suit her they were also very comfy she informed me!
I then started looking at the heels they had to offer. Most came in a variety of autumnal colours that weren’t just the standard black, brown or navy that you’d expect to find. The shape of some reminded me of the Irregular Choice shape with their rounded toes and curvy sides.

This type were Kellie’s faves, she was spoilt for choice between a lovely teal pair and a purple pair. I think they would look fab with a prom dress or vintage style dress.
Then I saw the first pair that were ‘me’. The Vanity ankle boots have a nice block heel and a faux zip effect across the top part of the boot. When I tried them on they fit lovely and the open zip gave a tapering effect on the ankle. Basically they looked banging with my skinny jeans! I favoured the black purely because they looked the best with my washed out grey jeans, but the purple were equally as stunning.

I did see some pairs my mum would like including the popular leopard print loafer which has a matching bag too! (I’m thinking Christmas present!!).

I then got to the back of the shop where I found some gorgeous faux fur lined boots. Literally the insides were like fluffy slippers they were uber soft. The Moonstone (which I’m sure Helpful Mum ended up with the navy pair ) and the Samia Boots both looked so comfy! It was then that I saw the boot of dreams.

The Briony knee high boots.

Jenna and I both loved them on first sight but also the more casual Adalyn boots caught our eyes too. We asked to try on both in our sizes I thought I’d try an 8 and a 9 to be sure however they broke the news try didn’t have either pair in those sizes or even a 7. They could order them into store at no cost or order to my home which I thought was fab service but I didn’t want to risk them not fitting.

Turns out Briony were pretty popular with a few trying them on , I just looked on longingly! (And ate some of the fabulous fruit that was on offer)

It was then an 8 was located in the Adalyn but due to my high arch the top of my foot was touching the top of the boot at the ankle so weren’t the boot for me. It was at that point I thought the Vanity ones were coming home with me. That was until I decided to try the 6 1/2 on in the Briony I actually got my feet into it and zipped up the thigh and decided I loved them! At that point another Hotter member found me and went on the hunt for the size 7’s she thought they had, and low behold she found a size 8! I could’ve hugged her! They fit perfectly, the stretchy back meant they fit snug to my calf, the shiny leather glistened and the buckles shone. They were made for me!

We also had a presentation about Hotter who are really upping their style game but maintaining the comfort that’s associated with their brand. Most of the shoes are British made (with the exception of the newer fashion soles) and they all look fantastic quality.Seeing the different technologies that go into making them comfy was also fascinating and I’d love to actually see them being made in their factory.

Needless to say there were some happy bloggers at the end of the night as we were taking home the pair we loved and every one of the pairs we had were super comfy shoes. I can’t wait for the cooler weather so I can start to wear mine, I’ve just git an amazing suede skirt they will look fab with. So what do you think will you be giving Hotter shoes a chance like I did?
