Primark Beauty Basics Haul

I ‘quickly’ nipped into Primark yesterday to buy a belt, £32 later I’d got the said belt, some sandals, loafers and all this from the beauty section. Oops.

I thought I’d show everything and try anything out I hadn’t seen featured anywhere before so here it is:
Egg Make Up Sponge £1.50
I saw this and thought I’d try it, as my current brush had been leaving a few steaks when I used it with certain foundations. For £1.50 what could go wrong I thought? Well… The smell could go wrong, when I dabbed it into my mixture of ‘That Gal’ and ‘Hello Flawless’ a most horrible smell came out of it: it doesn’t smell ordinarily just when it meets foundation it seems.

I’m going to give it a good cleanse which will hopefully rid the smell and allow me to properly test it without a nose peg.

Brow Gel £1
I have just thrown away my collection 2000 clear mascara that I’d been using on my brows as it had gone cloudy, so when I saw this I thought I’d give it a try. My eyebrows are pretty bushy in places so I like to try and keep the shape better with gel.

Firstly apologies for the shadowy pic it was a very quick shot before I went out, I used the gel alongside my trusty HD Brows palette and it really made them look neat, it didn’t flake or clump and kept them in place so thumbs up for this pound bargain!

Instant Nail Polish Remover Pot £1
This is a big tub, 70ml, so is just 5ml short of the Bourjois version (£4.99,Boots) , I have a small cheap instant remover at work that really smells so I thought this may be the same. It does smell but not pungent, infact Mr E , who normally complains about the smell if my usual remover didn’t say anything so this may become a fave. Inside the sponge is black, which stops it from looking messy like the whiter sponges. I put in my very glittered nail to try it out:

I didn’t expect it to work, it didn’t the glitter just started to take out bits if the sponge , but it did remove the colour from where the glitter wasn’t so I’m keen to try it on plain nail varnish.
I’m going to use one for lights and one for darks, I’ll make sure I put an update in how I get on!

Nail Polish Corrector Pen £1
I’m a big fan of corrector pens, and have the Nails Inc (£10) and Models Own (£5) versions I can’t compare them size wise, but the Primark pen comes with 3 extra nibs and removed all the bits of polish I wanted it too. I’m unsure how long it will last but at a £1 I don’t think it can go too far wrong.

Nail Art Pens £2
I love Primark Nail Art Pens I’d not had red before so picked these up to add to my collection.

Disney Nail Files £1.50
How cute are these?? I’m a sucker for Bambi so just had to have them!

10 Piece Nail Art Brush Set £3
I’ve had some nail art brushes from eBay before now, but the painted part of the handles came off when I used nail polish remover on them. These seem to be different and the pink remains on them , the bristles seem to be quite stiff on the smaller ones which I find easier to use especially for painting straight lines.

So for £13, I did quite well don’t you think? What have been your Primark Bargains lately? Have you tried any of the above items yet?
