I’ve mentioned this before but I now wear glasses, they are for mainly to see further away so I wear them whilst watching TV,driving and sometimes even just walking about and reading.
My first pair slowly crept into a couple of #ootd shots and I really love them but as a person who likes to ensure my shoes match my outfit match my bag match my jewellery…. You get the idea… My glasses suddenly became an issue as sometimes they just don’t match!
I’d used Specspost before after seeing them on Lizi’s blog when Mr E desperately needed some prescription sunglasses for holidays but didn’t want to pay too much (they were £25 all in!!)
So when I saw shots of their new colour collection I knew I wanted a pair! (Or two, or three…)
It was fate that they were lovely enough to provide myself and Mr E with some frames to try out as part of their home trial*
Picking out the ones we liked was super hard as there was so much choice!
They have a great selection of all kinds of frames and specialise in geek style and fashion glasses so I was in my element!
We ended up choosing quite a few of the colour collection glasses:
I chose the mint and coral pair (I need a pair of sunglasses so thought the coral pair might be perfect) and Mr E chose the blue.
Needless to say I don’t think we chose the best colours for us! I think I should’ve gone for the lilac pair maybe, and Mr E the darker green pairs
I do love the coral colour for sunglasses though so they are on the order, they are comfy to wear and I love coral for summer, it’s a shame I’ll just be using them in the car on sunny winters days for now.
Colour Collection Glasses £18.99
The other 2 frames I chose were a burgundy faded pair and a green tortoishell pair.
These were slightly too small for me I think, I did think so when I chose them as the handy sizing guide showed them to have a smaller diameter than my current ones but I thought I’d give them a go! If you like smaller frames they can be found here.
I really like these Eye Candy Mint Cream Wayfayers (£22) green ones as they were a good size and that little bit unusual, they were my favourite until….
These ‘Proudlock’ ones were a pair of Mr E’s that I’d made him choose as I liked them and it seems I liked them too much!
Proudlock £30
Mr E did look rather good in them too:
But I persuaded him he looked better in the larger Talented Mr Ripley Frames (£30) and luckily for me he agreed!
As you can see the basis of the home trial is you get to try frames you’d like to buy on in the comfort of your own home, after paying around £30 for most trials first the glasses are sent for you to try on.
Once you’ve made your choice , send your glasses back with the information requested (your prescription mainly!) and the money you paid is deducted from the total. If you choose a cheaper pair then you will be refunded the difference. Pretty darn good Id say, and with frames at such reasonable prices you can afford to buy more than one pair!
Thanks to Specspost for helping me out so much with selections and advice, and thanks to you all for helping me choose the best frames on Instagram!
(Oh and don’t tell Mr E but I’ve just ordered the Eye Candy Mint Cream wayfarers now too! Oops.)
*Home trial kindly provided for review alongside 2 free pairs of glasses. Opinions are honest and as always are my own (and Mr E’s).
