New Years Eve was a little last minute to say the least this year. For the past few years my friendship group have got together at someone’s house and ate and drank until the strike of midnight, sometimes adding a hot tub to the mix (courtesy of one friends house!) and a few fireworks before everyone went home with work the next day in their minds (the joys of working in retail).
I’ve said all year I wanted to do something different so after much umming over what we should do we found a nice little Motown evening at a pub nearby, queue panic mode 2 days out on what to wear!
I’d already picked up this Asos Tall Bardot Crop Top in their sale as I loved the green version I wore for my Christmas Tree Dress Up so much and at £5 I had to have it!
It’s now sold out but the core range one is still available for £8 here.
I wanted to build my outfit around the top so I wanted a high waist midi skirt to go with it, and I knew I didn’t want to wear my trusty comfy sandals so was on the look out for a pair of shoes too.

Cue frantic ordering on Tuesday from my desk at work(I skipped breakfast to do this!)
I’d had my eye on these Dorothy Perkins shoes ( Two Part Bronze Holographic Shoes ) for a while and thought they could be perfect, and with a recent upgrade to free next day delivery I decided to place the order as they still had some size 9’s left which I considered fate!
I also got another 15% off which made these £19.72 instead of the original £29.
I then went to Very’s site who were guaranteeing next day collect+ on available items (as in not on order) but after I placed an order for 5 lovely skirts it said they were arriving on the 6th Jan! Even after taking to very helpers on Twitter they couldn’t confirm that the original promise of next day would be kept (sad face!) so I went to trusty ASOS and ordered lots more skirts which arrived at 10am the next day!

I then had a quandary, if you follow my social media channels you may have seen I was struggling to choose between 3 of the skirts that arrived, with this one (Asos Metallic Jaquard Midi Skirt ) being the firm favourite (it was also one that matched the shoes!) but the shoes hadn’t arrived, they cut it fine and arrived at 430pm but when they did and they fit perfectly (slightly Cinderella I know) I knew the bronze jacquard midi skirt had to be the one to wear!

However, it’s part of their core range so size 18 it had to be, it fit but very tightly at the waistband, so I zipped it up to the seam then folder the corners underneath and added a belt, which allowed for easier sitting down and general breathing! Phew!

I added a lovely furry tippet from a River Island, I’d had my eye on this all season so snapped it up in the sale at £12 instead of £25 and wore it across my shoulders for the first part of the night and on the walk home to keep me warm, alongside my furry earmuffs and parka!
I topped off the outfit with my trusty Mulberry Clutch and a bronze holo Primark Necklace and bracelet.

I loved how the outfit came together in the end and I’m also loving how much I saved on the original RRP’s which was just over£65 on the four main items I bought. Bargainous!
Share with me what you wore on NYE or what sale bargains you’ve picked up recently as im super nosy and Id love to see!
