When I first saw these mentioned a month or so ago on various blogs my heart lept! Yes, really, no exaggeration( call me shallow I don’t mind!). The reason for this surge of joy over an inanimate make up item is the fact that I am obsessed with Gosh Waterproof Eyeshadow sticks, which, were discontinued by the brand an age ago.
Every day I have risked the perils of using out of date eyeshadow as repurchasing them was only doable through eBay and the risk of getting a gone off one was high.
So when I heard Gosh were launching something that looked pretty similar my hopes were high.
I literally ran into Superdrug as soon as I could to get them and try them out. I chose the 2 lightest shades out if the six available, Silver Rose and Forever Beige.
Both glide onto the skin and stay put without creasing for a good 6 hours, I’m looking at it now and it’s been 8 with only 1 small gathering in the corner crease. They don’t seem to stay as long as my old fave did, but they are a smoother and a thinner consistency which I think helps with application.
I use them as a powder eyeshadow base and only leave the actual colour showing towards the inner eye. They do a great job of intensifying the colour of powders when I apply them but not quite as good as my old fave!
Id recommend them as a first try at a cream stick before splurging on a Laura Mercier Caviar stick and the like, and could be a good comparison ‘drugstore’ product to those more expensive products. I’d like to see a larger shade range in these too a khaki and a light pink would be top of my list!
Overall I will re purchase and I’ll be using these on their own on holiday as they are waterproof. Good effort Gosh but I’m not ready to let go of my old formula sticks just yet…
