What do you think of when you hear about the brand Burberry? Cara D in their recent My Burberry campaign? Their classic trench coat and check print? Burberry Touch, the fragrance of the noughties? Beyoncé only wearing Burrrberry to swim? Or that infamous Daniella Westbrook photo kilts, pram and all?
I personally don’t think make up springs to mind with the brand, however the brand has been part of the make up industry in the UK since July 2010 and when myself and some other Meadowhall Bloggers were invited to visit the new Burberry make up counter within Boots I decided it was time to get to know, and banish some of those images out of my mind for good!
We were introduced to all their product ranges including their newest perfume- My Burberry, which we got samples of to try at home- I must say I was impressed with the moisturising body mist that was part of the Christmas gift sets this year, it really layered the fragrance well and moisturised too!

Of course as well as that I was drawn to the nail polishes and got to try out the Dark Bottle Green and the limited edition Gold (both £15 each)
I was impressed with the wear of these as they last well into the weekend and about 5 days without any major chips. There’s a great shade range and I really liked the khaki colour too.

I had a mini makeup trial as they have some lovely eyeshadow colours I wanted to try out.
I can’t say how long the make up lasted as I was soon in bed after the event but I had been left thinking about how much I liked the mascara used as as part of it: it lengthened without clumping and I liked it so much I bought it the next week, and haven’t stopped wearing it since.

Burberry Effortless Mascara (£21.50)
Here’s what they say :
‘This versatile mascara contains marine plant glycogen that accelerates fibre growth and strengthens the lashes, whilst providing effortless definition
A protective film forms on the surface of the lash and shields against humidity, rain and heat’
It really does define each lash and I find I can really build up the volume as I go which helps with the non clumping probably. I would go as far to say it’s topped my current fave Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara which held the title of best mascara discovery of 2014 for me.

I was also intrigued with the base used and I was lucky enough to be sent some of the Fresh Glow BB Cream* (£30) which I’ll give a full post as I’m really enjoying using it so far! So won’t say too much about it now.
We all had a fab time and it was great to meet/catch up with these lovelies- Photo courtesy of Kariss.(edited badly by me) thanks to Burberry for helping me banish the stereotypes of the brand and for helping me discover such a fab mascara!
