I love black, black is my colour (is it a colour even?) It goes with anything (well, except brown) and a black jacket/cardi/coat is just so useful to go with anything!
As I went through my wardrobe and saw I had 2 black duster jackets, 4 black Blazers and goodness knows how many black cardigans I realised I had a slight obsession!
So when I reached for a third black duster jacket in New Look I realised enough was enough! So I pondered the dark grey one … Before finding my resolve and picking up this lime green one! It was in the sale so if it doesn’t go with many things it’s not as bad when it only cost £12!
It’s a great length and will look great with an all black outfit underneath (don’t want to move too far away from the comfort zone!!)
Around the same time I was asked to choose an item from the new season collection at Bonmarché so I decided to choose this David Emmanuel Iris Blue Biker Jacket* to try another brighter colour in my wardrobe. I’m wearing a size 18 here and it just zips up on me, but I don’t ever really close my jackets so it’s not an issue for me! The texture of the fabric is like a suede effect soft material which means it can be worn casually or more formally. As it touches the top of my hips I’ll be wearing it with my favourite scuba trousers and oversize top to work when the snow finally goes!
I must admit ive never considered Bonmarché as a place to shop but they have a great size range and do have some good youthful pieces and I do like a lot of their coats and jackets on site, I also spied a really nice chevron pattern blouse in a few bright colours that I may have to get for work too! (Although admittedly I thought it was a shame it didn’t come in black!!) the quality of the jacket seems to be really good too and I like the gunmetal zip details that add a little interest and make it look more sophisticated and more than its £35 price tag.
Once I got going there was no stopping me! I picked up a coral coat from New Look I saw it in the core range where it was full price, but when I got to the inspire section it was reduced to £27! It’s now only £19 here so be quick!
It’s a lovely texture and quite lightweight so will be perfect for spring walks or just for when the sun is shining!
I also love the length of this one as its in-between the other 2 ones and will look good with dresses as well as trousers and jeans.
So mission bring the brightness has stated well with outerwear! My next plans are to move to tops so if you see anything work appropriate that you think will work send me a link or comment below!
