I was kindly invited by the colleagues at Faith PR to attend the opening of a new beauty salon in Garforth near Leeds. The Beauty Matters salon isn’t new to the block but it’s bigger than before and offering lots of new treatments too!
I popped along with Kariss (and met Jenna and Rachel there too) we were met with fizz and warm welcome from The owner Melanie Philbin, and told to explore away. However it was a little difficult at first as it was jam packed! It was lovely to see so many people had gone along to the opening to support and it was great to see a local business looking likely to succeed.
The thing I noticed the most was how homely it felt, as we wandered upstairs it felt like being at home with thick carpet and this amazing light fitting!
Upstairs is where spray tans, skin consultations, 3D Lipo, semi permanent makeup and Colonic Hydrotherapy all happens. We saw the middle three happening (and luckily not the last!!) and it all looked intriguing. However after being told my skin has hardly any water in it at a skincare counter a few months back I wasn’t yet ready to be told more bad things about it! One step at a time!!
The 3D Lipo is something that would tempt me and I’ve luckily taken away some info so I can read up&on it more but basically it involves a machine that uses RF technology and more to break down fat cells, contour and tighten skin. I must say I’m intrigued.
Downstairs is the nail bar part and the waxing and massage rooms, including one with 2 beds, Melanie’s husband John said this was their idea as he always goes along with her when she has a massage so would be great to have them together. Having had a couples massage before it’s definitely something I think is a nice thing to do!
We were also kindly gifted some Environ face products that I plan to start using soon, they are the brand used in all the facials at the salon and if it’s good enough for Elle Macpherson (just look at her skin!!) it’s definitely good enough for me!
