I was lucky (or creative?) enough to win some (a years supply of) make up in the #BMSelfie competition in April, the torture was I had to wait until the comp had closed completely before I got my goodies!!
If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen it all, and of course I had to review the bits I had been about to purchase before the win!
First up is the Barry M Natural Glow Palette described as containing ‘6 subtle eyeshadows in neutral hues and a pastel pink blush’.
Oddly the shades don’t run light to dark, and the palette starts with a mid brown/light pink shimmer, into a matte cream, matte tan then into 3 shimmers grey/brown, mid tan and dark brown. At the end is the pink blusher, this is very light and for me is definitely a highlighter not a blush.
It comes with 2 sponge applicators (nooooo!) please stop it already but counter acts those hideous things with a very reasonable size mirror. The cardboard packaging is a magnetic closure and feels sturdy enough to handle its own in my make up bag.
Colour wise the shades are very subtle, and the darks seem the better shades upon first impressions, however they do blend well and the lighter ones show up better blended on the eyes.
The palette can be bought here for £6.49 and for the price it’s a good daytime eyeshadow palette and handy for travelling however it definitely has competition from the other budget brands on the scene with more colours and improved lighter colour pay off, the highlighter and packaging for me are what would sell it for me.
