Last week I went along to the Allertons Salon In Leeds to celebrate their first birthday. After missing their launch night last year I’d heard nothing but good things so was keen to check it out. After turning up looking something resembling a drowned rat (it ALWAYS rains when I walk up to that side of Leeds!) I was greeted with cake, fizz and lots of people! I found Kellie in the crowd and we soon saw Laura too and had a good old natter. There was lots going on from make up to hair and nails and I decided to queue for a manicure using Anna Sui polish.

It was worth the wait as the colours were lovely. I also got to chat to Amber from City Hearts (remember her from The City Girls Post?, she won an award for community contribution on the night which I thought was fab) and some lovely Allertons customers including Preet who did the most amazing henna designs and an Italian lady who was so chic it hurt!
Listening to their experiences as customers of Allertons I’m gutted I didn’t get chance to experience hair or makeup at the salon but I’m sure I’ll be making a trip there soon.
I also got talking to Kerry who was there for Caudalie. We had a chat about my skin, my first day trialling the new Radiance Vinoperfect Tinted Moisturiser and lots more, including what Caudalie (pronounced Ko-da-Lee) means!
The short story is that Caudalie states when a professor said to the founder at her families vineyard that they were throwing away treasure when throwing away the grape remnants. A few years later Caudalie was born, skincare based upon grape seed extracts. Caudalie means the taste a fine wine leaves in the mouth, the longer the Caudalie the more fine the wine. I love it!
It was a this point I saw the Grape Water Mist and then saw the travel size! For £6 for the perfect travel size I was sold, I can just see me now on the Mexico beach in a few weeks, cocktail in hand, wide brimmed hat on misting myself as I laze on the day bed (look a girl can dream!). Kerry also showed me the Beauty Elixir which blew me away! (VB is a big fan apparently and it’s their best selling product) it left the skin on my hand so soft when I tried it and is so versatile in its use. Again there was a travel size which I’m always drawn to with new products so bought them both and then convinced Lorna to buy the elixir too! (She now realises what an enabler I am! ). I haven’t put down the Elixir claimed to give a complexion boost it really does refresh my skin and make it feel soft. It even sets make up so a great all round product.
Ive got some other bits to try out for longer so you’ll be seeing the brand again soon I’m sure. If you’ve tried out any of their products let me know what you thought in the comments!
