On Sunday I visited Lambert’s Yard in Leeds for an ‘Introjuicing’ event hosted by Currys and organised by Joe Blogs Network.
As I’m now eating healthier I wanted to see what benefits juicing could have and was looking forward to participating in a bit of yoga instead of my now weekly Sunday walk!
As there were 54 of us at the event we were put into 5 groups, I was with lots of lovelies including Kellie (Big Fashionista), Steph (Seeing Spots) , Siobhan (Rock and Roses) , Sian (You’re Not From Round Here – Helpful Mum) , Daisy (Pretty Green Tea) , Bryony (Breakfast at Bryonys and Sophie (One Ten Zero Seven) .

There were 5 stations on the day which we rotated around, we started off on the mocktail station where Nick from Lambert’s Yard was juicing up some concoctions. at this point I really realised that I hate cucumber in drinks! (This had been something I had suspected for a while but Nicks juice just cemented it!!) We did get to have a good laugh though and try and make our own, mine was made with beetroot,Apple, carrot and ginger, it was better as it had no cucumber and was very red and matched my nails!

Our second station was yoga and luckily we had chosen the traditional yoga instead of the Rocket Yoga that our Instructor Amanda specialises in! I wasn’t that great at it and couldn’t stop giggling I kept distracting Steph especially when I nearly fell on her- oops!
Although I clearly have no balance I did enjoy it and i ached for the couple of days after which is a good sign Im told!

After that we got to play, creating our own juice concoctions, at this point I ignored the ‘don’t put all the fruit in’ advice and I did exactly that , it was super yummy though! It was a concoction of orange, line, strawberry, pineapple, Apple and carrot (decided it couldn’t be 100% fruit) I enjoyed it a lot and it was great fun , I’ll never forget Kellie just snapping a carrot in half with such menace!!!

Just after official lunch which was a glorious mushroom and truffle oil soup we were at the final station was hosted by Shakela who is a nutritionist who made even more interesting juices- broccoli and fennel anyone?? (No? Me neither!) She did introduce me to Chia seeds which I’d been debating buying and have now placed an order for some to add to my breakfast everyday!

Thanks to Curry’s for this photo too.

Spot the Chia Seeds

Overall it was interesting to see what each juice tasted like and to discover I’m a bigger fan of fruit juice rather than vegetable juice – I’m sticking to having veg with my dinner!
Ive got a little juicer at home so I’m planning to juice my own fresh juices and add almond milk to it or coconut water if I’ve been exercising (or more likely, out on the town), and maybe give some of the juice recipes provided by Currys as I did enjoy the fruitier variants!

I did really enjoy the yoga too and am considering finding somewhere local that does it as I really need to strengthen my shoulders and this session definitely helped!
Do you practise yoga? I’d love to hear your tips!
