I recently got the opportunity to contribute to Joshua James Jewellery Blog for Mother’s Day- read what me and some other fab bloggers wrote about here. If you haven’t heard of Joshua James Jewellery before now then I’ll give you a brief lowdown. They are based not too far away from me in Hessle where they have a store as well as their website. They have their own line of jewellery as well as being official stockists for some of the biggest watch and jewellery brands.

I was asked to pick something to review and I just couldn’t make up my mind (what’s new eh!?) so I picked a top 5 and asked them to pick for me! They were actually generous enough to send me both a gorgeous Olivia Burton Watch* and a Thomas Sabo ring*.

They arrived on the Monday afternoon after the order was placed on the Friday , I was super impressed and it was perfect timing as I was laid up in bed with the virus/flu/cold that was/is going around and it helped me to be cheerful even if I felt rubbish! I must say though having to walk down 3 flights of stairs to answer the door to the delivery man wasn’t so good!

Olivia Burton Watch – Painterly Prints Hummingbird Large Dial *

When the Painterly Prints collection came out for Olivia Burton I fell in love, designed around watercolour designs and featuring birds and flowers I just loved them! I chose a big dial watch as I think big watches suit me, and I went for the white background design with hummingbirds as I thought it was quite Spring like.

The strap is black leather and fits around my wrist , which can often be a hassle when ordering watches online I find. I’m using the second the last hole on the strap and there are 8 in total. I blooming love it! (No pun intended, but imma leave it there now I’ve wrote it!)
Thomas Sabo Rose Gold Plated Bow Ring*

Behold the gorgeousness! I love a good bow, and when I saw this ring I was in love. It was in the sale section so was half its £105 RRP. I would actually say it was worth that though as I haven’t stopped wearing it since I got it. It’s a silver ring which is rose gold plated which makes it more affordable then a full gold ring. It’s meant I can wear it in the shower without worrying about ruining it!

There’s one thing with Thomas Sabo rings though and it’s the sizing, I would recommend sizing up there’s a great guide to all ring sizes on the Joshua James Jewllery Blog which I found so helpful, and is one of the reasons I would buy Jewllery from them on the future, their blog posts are really useful and helpful and you just don’t get that with a mainstream jeweller I don’t find. Anyway I got a size 56 which is the equivalent to a P1/2 in our UK sizing. My wedding ring is a size N, and just fits so I thought the sizing would be plenty to wear it on my middle finger. However it only just fits on my right hand ring finger and I find it fits more comfy on my left hand ring finger (thanks to over 5 years of worn away finger there!) and fits across my wedding band and drapes down across my engagement ring. I actually love it like that! It is only a size bigger than my wedding ring (so an O1/2 at a push I would say) so I would recommend going a size up if you are unsure on those rings. I’m considering buying a silver ring next as I love some of the other designs they have on the site too. Let me know what you think in the comments!
