I was lucky enough to win a competition over on Fixin to Faff , Ali had attended the Elf store opening in Cardiff with her hubby so held a giveaway to win his goody bag- apparently he’s not a fan of eyeshadow lol!

Isn’t it great?! Inside the reusable tote were the following items :
Powder Brush £3.75
Eyelid Primer in Sheer £1.50
Baked Eyeshadow Palette in NYC £10

The powder brush seems great, it has a flat surface and I’m going to use it for my blusher as I think it will be great for contouring using the edges if the brush. It comes with its own plastic guard as well so should keep my makeup bag cleaner too!

The eyelid primer seems like such a bargain, I used it on my forearm when I reviewed Naked 3, and it did a great job! I’ve compared it to my urban decay primer which I prefer but as a low cost everyday eyelid primer I think this is fab!

You can see it on my arm here, it applies smoothly and dries quickly.

The eyeshadow palette has 10 great colours in it.
The collection is called NYC, and has a range of light and dark colours.
They are baked eyeshadows, and I was most excited by the mulberry shade and the navy shade.

The first 4 in the palette mulberry and a mink on the top row and a black and dark brown on the bottom.

I was not disappointed with the mulberry colour, it’s got a great shimmer to it, and a good pigment too.
The next 6 are ivory, gold and silver on the top row, charcoal ,black with golden shimmer and a navy on the bottom.

The first 3 were very light, they were very shimmery which I liked, bit when I blended them with the darker shades they didn’t really make a mark. Also as they are above the darker shades they easily got dust from the darker shades and so made them a bit darker than they should be quite quickly.
The 3 darker shades were nice, I especially like the dark black/brown with gold shimmer and would look great with a strong gold in the corners of my eyes.

This is it blended with the lighter shades, I do think it needs more lighter shimmer.
And I think adding this to my current eyeshadows will work really well! I’m so grateful to have won it all!
And if I had to replace any of it? I would definitely get the brush again, and at a pound a shade the eyeshadow is great value, so think I would buy it for the darker shades for sure!
As for the primer? I’ll be using it for my swatches going forward too fab! Thanks again Ali!
