This weeks manicure Monday is brought to you by the letter K. Kiss and Kubiss to be exact.

Kiss who you may know for their nail wraps and false nails have a new product to the game, namely Gel Dress (£5.99, Superdrug). Basically they are a sticky peelable strip that coats the whole nail and sticky tips or nail art .
I received the Fairy Dust* variant which has 20 full cover strips in burgundy with glitter, leopard and glitter leopard heart patterns and 20 French tips in glitter and leopard.

I think the black and gold and the floral set are gorgeous and ideal if you don’t have the patience for intricate nail art as this have sticky decals to go over painted nails.

The wraps are described as the only gel strips with instant peel off removal. They can also last up to 2 weeks if the Kiss Double Up Top Coat and Kiss LED Lamp are used to cure on top.

As I’m not a huge gel fan I used Kiss Gel- Strong Top Coat* which means the strips can last up to a week with ‘normal’ top coat which I still think is great considering the small amount of time it takes to apply.
As the strips are flexible I found then easy to apply, just choose out of the sizes which one to use, stick it down, file off the excess using the file provided, add topcoat to set and voila! When you’re fed up just peel them off as shown.

As part of the manicure I wanted to add colour to the French tip nails so I used Kubiss Shade 38* as I had been looking for a great mani to use it on!
Kubiss London are a fairly new UK brand that launched in Ireland earlier in the year. They have a full makeup range with each item only £1.95 each! It’s made in the UK as well which is always nice to see! The leaflet that came with the polish says that it’s launching in Asda right now so keep your eyes peeled!
It was a 3 coater and has a strong creme finish, no chips and no bubbles!
Pretty good for the price and I’d like to try some of the other colours especially the pastels I’ve seen on twitter.

I think the colour compliments the Kiss Gel Dressperfectly.

I applied these on Saturday night and they lasted until I decided to clean the fridge Sunday morning. I lost the little nail in the actual washing up bowl. The nail had slightly broken so that could be why.
The others remained though and the tip for me is to remove all grease from the nail prior using nail polish remover and to ensure the top coat goes over the nail tip to ensure they last. I’ll keep going with them and update on twitter through the week with my progress!
Overall I’m impressed so far, I know I’ll be tempted to peel off the full nails as the week goes on, but I really like the idea of having a cohesive yet alternative manicure using just 1 set of strips and art.
What’s your thoughts? Will you be trying out Kiss or Kubiss?
